How to
take questions
Give your friends and followers the chance to ask you any question and share your answers with the world. Set up your personalized Q&A page in just a few clicks.
1. Get started
- To set up your own takesquestion.com page you'll need a SoundCloud account. If you don't have a SoundCloud account yet, you can create one on the go for free.
- Click on Start taking questions to begin the setup process. You connect to SoundCloud and optionally connect to Twitter. Connecting Twitter will send a tweet from your Twitter account to the person who asked the original question as soon as you answer it.

If you want, you can add a touch of style to your page by customizing it and adding a background image.
2. Tell people
- Once your page is ready it's time to share it with the world. Tell your friends, fans and followers about your new page via Twitter, Facebook or any other method and invite them to ask you questions.
- When people start asking you questions, these will appear on your SoundCloud Dashboard under the Exclusive tab. You will be notified via email about new questions or you can check on SoundCloud.com and via our iPhone, Android or Mac app to see if there are new questions for you.
- Questions are in the format Q12 Question for {your_name} and will be privately shared to you.
3. Share answers
- Answering a question is pretty simple. Just use the Record button on our iPhone, Android, Mac apps or even SoundCloud.com.
- After you recorded your answer, give it some context by adding an image and location if you like.
- The most important thing is to ensure your answer is named correctly (that means you should give the answer the right title or, on the apps, the right "What"). The title should always contain the number of the question, e.g. to answer the question "Q12 Question for {your_name}", the right answer should have a title like: "A12 My answer". Why is that?
- After you've done that, you can upload your answer. As soon as the answer is processed it will appear on your page. If you and the person who asked a question entered a twitter username a tweet will be sent out.
- It will take around 5 minutes until your answer appears on your takesquestions page. If it takes much longer, you should check whether the title of your answer was right.
